Welcome to Freeworld Digital.

Freeworld is a 16 Track digital recording studio utilizing the Pro-Tools TDM hard disk recording system synched with an Alesis ADAT-XT.

Freeworld Digital was founded in 1991 by Robert Hamlin. Robert was taking Audio Engineering classes at Collin County Community College at the time, doing live remote recordings & digital editing on Sound Designer II. During his time at CCCC, Robert worked with bands such as Quickserv Johnny & Grand Street Cryers (Formerly Dead City Radio). Robert worked on the "Eat Your Vegetables" Compilation album in the Business of Music classes at CCCC on which Dead City Radio was introduced to the Metroplex.

After CCCC Robert worked at Universal Distribution in Dallas to get some experience in the "Business" side of the music industry. Universal handled the distribution for:

Universal Records

Interscope

Geffen

MCA

Rising Tide

In late 1997, Robert started construction on Freeworld's main Studio and began a major upgrade of the studios equipment. (Be sure to take a look at our Equipment List to see some of the great gear we added!!)

Freeworld Studio officially opened for business on January 1st of 1998. Through years of recording many types of music in the studio, a specialty for accapella and vocal/accoustic music has developed.

Several groups that perform locally have recorded all of their albums in the Freeworld Digital studio such as
Queen Anne's Lace & The Corsairs. Please stop by their web sites & check out their music. It is some of the best in the area !!
